Real Betis is exploring possibilities to retain Antony, who joined the club on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season, according to Fichajes. The Brazilian has demonstrated his quality in LaLiga, becoming a key player for Manuel Pellegrini. This has prompted the club to consider keeping him beyond June.
However, the operation is highly complicated and expensive. The loan agreement did not include a purchase option, and Manchester United has indicated that they would be willing to let him leave permanently for around €50 million, a price that Real Betis cannot afford. Additionally, Antony's high salary of around €14 million per year is also out of the club's reach.
Given these challenges, the only viable alternative would be to negotiate a new loan. However, Antony's impressive performances have attracted the interest of other European clubs with greater financial capabilities, reducing Real Betis' options. The club would require a significant reduction in Manchester United's demands or Antony's willingness to take a substantial pay cut.
