According to TVC News, the newly inaugurated local government chairmen and their deputies in Osun State have been directed to stay away from their respective councils for the time being. This directive was given by Governor Ademola Adeleke, following the recent local government elections in the state.

The elections, which were held on Saturday, saw candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) emerge victorious in all 30 local government areas of the state. The candidates were subsequently sworn in after receiving their certificates of return.

In a speech, Governor Adeleke urged the chairmen and their counselors to stay away from the local governments pending the resolution of the ongoing crisis. He explained that the state independent electoral commission had complied with extant rules and procedures, which led to their emergence as the new council executives.

The governor assured President Bola Tinubu of his commitment to the rule of law and the constitution in resolving conflicts and governing the state. He also called on politicians to uphold judicial supremacy over self-interest in the interest of peace.
