Manchester United are reportedly nearing an agreement with Real Betis over a loan move for winger Antony, according to Spanish outlet Marca. The Red Devils' hierarchy is open to offloading the Brazilian this month, and negotiations with Betis have intensified.

Antony's underwhelming performance since joining Manchester United from Ajax in a deal worth £82m (rising to £86m) has prompted the club to explore options for his departure. With a record of just 12 goals and five assists in 95 games, Antony has failed to justify his hefty price tag.

Real Betis have emerged as frontrunners to sign Antony on loan, but negotiations have been complex. Initially, Betis proposed paying less than half of Antony's £200,000-a-week salary, which Manchester United deemed unacceptable. However, Marca reports that Betis have now submitted an improved offer, increasing the percentage of Antony's salary they are willing to cover.

According to sources close to the negotiations and Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United and Real Betis are edging closer to an agreement. Betis are eager to finalize the deal as soon as possible, but some issues still need to be resolved. Antony is reportedly aware that his departure from Old Trafford is imminent.

The potential departure of Antony could be one of several changes to Manchester United's attacking lineup this month. Marcus Rashford, who has been linked to AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona, may also leave on loan. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho is attracting interest from Napoli, who have submitted a second bid worth €55million.
