Osimhen, 25, subsequently joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan, where he has been in impressive form, scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances. Despite being frozen out of Napoli, Osimhen's prolific goal-scoring record has caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
Chelsea's interest in Osimhen is understandable, given the striker's impressive record in front of goal. However, the Blues already have Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku capable of playing in the No.9 role. Jackson, in particular, has been in fine form, contributing 12 goals in 17 games this term.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted that he may be open to signing another striker, stating, "If we have [the] chance to bring a No.9 that can help us and make the difference, we are going to try. Otherwise, we are ok.", as relayed by football.london
Osimhen's future remains uncertain, with the striker reportedly available for €75million (£62million) next summer. When asked about his future, Osimhen confirmed that he would be at Galatasaray until the end of the season, dismissing any January transfer rumors.
If Chelsea were to sign Osimhen, what would their best XI look like? football.london predicts a potential starting XI:
Best Chelsea XI if Osimhen signs: Sanchez; James, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Osimhen.
